Chicken bits as weapons

The story itself isn't all that interesting. I mean, it's just a print version of an upcoming COPS episode. But, I love the graphic of the plate of wings. Photo editor must have been out sick that day.

Cap, Santo, and Evil Spidey

The link from the title will get you to a quite complete summary of a Turkish film, "3 Dev Adam". Don't know much about the site this is from, but the film is fascinating. Evil Spidey? No!

Sharpen Your Pencils

Things are getting back to what's considered 'normal' at my house. Lori's back from the month-long work in Texas and other parts.

This weekend we're heading up to good ol' Beaver Dam, WI to see her Grandparents. Last weekend we went to the Hideout Block Party and saw The Redwalls, The M's, The Ponies, and The dB's. All were very cool, but we ranked The Ponies on the bottom and Lori was bummed that The dB's didn't play their song that she likes/knows best.

Hey, check out link from the title to a pencil carving site - pretty cool stuff.

Strong Bad at Trogdor-Con '97

There's a new short up on Homestarrunner.com that you might get a kick out of. We love Homestar Runner at our house!

When the cartoon is done, don't forget to click on the period and on the 'tag' sign for bonus stuff.

No wonder Lori always ordered the beef chop suey at Ho Wah's

From the Boston Globe - click the title to link to a story from Shanghai, China. Restaurant that was advertising dishes made with tiger meat, was ACTUALLY serving patrons donkey meat marinated in tiger urine.

There are so many great parts to this story. My personal favorite is that the article points out that it is unknown as to just how the tiger urine was obtained. Something to ponder on your next morning commute.

Nothing. What's new with you?

Wow, it's been a while since my last post. Nothing much to say recently, I guess.

Been working a lot. Riding a lot. Weather's been good. Yep. Let's se...what have I done the last week or so?

First night of bowling. God a new teammate. He used to be in our league, so I know him. Good bowler and good guy - he'll fit in well with our team. We're getting shirts this year, and free of charge, to boot! They'll be busy, though. We've got the team name on there and logos from a printing company and a dental office. The printing company's a vendor of one of my teammates and is providing the product at cost. Another teammate is a dentist and he's taking care of the cost as a team sponsorship business expense. Anyway, I shot a 723 on the first night, so we're off to a flying start.

Saw The Lion King last week. Technically, it was amazing - very creative how they put it all together. The singing, dancing, stage direction were all incredible. It's a shame there's not much story behind it all. Very glad I went, but no deisre to see again.

Saw The White Stripes last week, too. Great time. haven't seen before just two people on such a big stage put forth a solid 2 hour show before. Good songs - lots of fun.

Yesterday, Dad and I took the bikes first to the car show/swap meet at the lake County Fairgrounds and then to a Thresheree in Milton, WI. The Thresheree was a giant antique tractor (and other equipment, mostly farm) show. They had steam engines pulling implements working a field; blacksmiths; steam engine train you could ride in; old tractors for sale; old tractors for sho (dozens of 'em, if not hundreds); a tractor parade that was at least an hour long; car show; flea market; very large steam powered equipment; a calliope; woodworkers. And I'm probably still forgetting something. Just huge. There were at least 10 steam powered tractors in the parade. Great show and a great ride. If I go again, I'd skip the other car show and go stright to Milton. The title gets you to their website and pictures, but they don't do it justice.

I noticed that as of yesterday, I've put 10,000 miles on this motorcycle. When I bought it, it had 4,700 miles and I just turned 14,800.

Lori's been in Texas and on a copule of trips with the band for the last 2-3 weeks. She packs up today and starts back fro home tomorrow which means I should probably clean up the cigar butts, empty beer cans, old pizza boxes and porn (Rachel Ray cookbooks - Ohhhhhhhhh...) before she gets back.
