Twist and Destroy -or- Strawberry Puppets Forever

Easter was good, family fun - noisy, rowdy, crowded, etc. Just right. Looking forward to warmer days when we can take gatherings outside again.

Listening to Greg Brown, Cyndi Lauper, Yes, and the Asylum Street Spankers. Might go see the Spankers in Milwaukee this Saturday. At Vnuk's, a pub we haven't been to. Decent beer list according to the website. Way cool. Also having a great time checking out Eddie Izzard DVDs. He's a riot!

On Friday at Vnuk's a band called Beatallica is playing. Haven't heard 'em, but Beatles tunes done Metallica style can't be all bad. Plus, Polka Face opens. I mean, come on! Who's not there?

Test drove a Honda Element last weekend. Blegh - noisy, rode hard. Still looking for the next vehicle.

A Honda Element. Phil ought to have a good comment on that. He can not stand the way they look and has a nasty comment every time he sees one.

Ugh. Thank god you don't like that butt-ugly car. There has got to me better cars out there with that kind of room, handling, etc.

You have such a wide variety of music, it should be nice to listen to lots fo different stuff all the time. Which Matthew Sweet album were you listening to last week?

As for Matthew Sweet releases last week, I was rotating through In Reverse, Altered Beast, and Living Things. The Thorns (Sweet with Shawn Mullins and Pete Droge) fit right in, too. In addition to what music I have, co-workers, the library and the web are all good resources for musical varieties.

I found a site with samples of Beatallica's tunes - nah, not for me. I thought maybe they'd play Beatles songs in a Metallica style. But they changed the lyrics around, too, so it was this awkward combination. I didn't find it funny or very interesting. "The Thing That Should Not Let It Be" Sigh. I thought the title of this post might be funny, not prophetic.
